Bolton Hospice Garden of Tranquillity Covered in Resigrip Surfacing

Resibond Ltd attended Bolton Hospice, which manages to keep its doors open through donations made by the general public as well as the hard work of many volunteers. There most recent fundraising event was for a Garden of Tranquillity which the hospice wanted to create.

As part of the Garden of Tranquillity Resibond Ltd was approached in order to install around 444 square meters of our Resigrip surfacing. This is a bonding surfacing system which provided Bolton Hospice with a long lasting, low maintenance surface using a wide range of natural and recycled materials which is exceptionally attractive.

The surface as mentioned is attractive and looks really natural which is why it is so popular. It’s hard-wearing but gives the look of loose stone without any disadvantages which usually arise from this. We simply applied it to the existing hard surface which was present and because of its texture it has great skid resistance making it ideal for use within the Bolton Hospice Garden.

Resibond Ltd treated the paths with 1-3mm Corn Flint and then 1-3mm Chinese Bauxite was chosen to use on the access ramps because of its high slip resistance nature.

On completion Bolton Hospice were extremely pleased with the results which were achieved. They work extremely hard providing services through their inpatient unit, support services, hospice at home, referrals, 24 hour advice line, occupational therapy and physiotherapy, chaplaincy, bereavement support, social work, creative therapy, complementary therapy, hair and image service, carers support, catering and housekeeping, education.

As you can see from the list above the work they carry out on a daily basis is of extreme importance to the families and patients who need their services. The garden is now complete and enjoyed by staff, patients and their families. It’s a place to go to take some well needed time out.
